Estuaries and Wetlands: Nature’s Superheroes

Writer's picture: Neha AnadureNeha Anadure

Estuaries and wetlands are like the heroes of the ecosystem, quietly providing us with various services. These areas keep our water clean and clear by filtering out pollutants – a natural water treatment plant! Additionally, they also serve as vital habitats for wildlife, offering food and shelter for countless species.

And let’s not forget their role in storm protection. Wetlands act like nature’s sponge, soaking up excess water during heavy rainfall, preventing flooding, and protecting nearby communities from storm surges. 🌧️

So, while wetlands might not wear capes, they’re definitely saving the day in more ways than one. Let’s protect these vital ecosystems before they disappear.. and stay tuned for how if/when they disappear we'll have to turn to turn to MANURE FIELDS to sustain our environment. Yup, you heard that right.. Our future could entail fields of poop if we don't act soon. Kinda ironic how the environment is turning to almost exactly what it sounds like hehe!
